SENIOR LEAGUE RULES

 

League Season 2009-2010

 

The C-B Laboratory/Allman Hearing Healthcare/Heartfelt Manor Senior League, as described in USBC rule 100h, is a mixed league in which both men and women participate.  Teams may be comprised of all women, all men or both men and women.  A senior league is composed of participants who are 55 years of age or over. USBC league rules shall apply to all USBC senior leagues, in addition to the following:

1.   Senior league bowlers are eligible for all USBC awards and services.

 

2.   A senior league may, by rule, allow bowlers 50 years of age and older, and members’ spouses under the age of 55 to compete in the league.

.  There will be four members per team.

 The League will bowl on Tuesdays for __32__ weeks starting September 1, 2009 and finishing on __April 13, 2010___.  The League will start promptly at 1 p.m. 

 

1.    Management of the league shall be vested in the Board of Directors.  This board shall consist of the league officers and team captains.  The league membership shall elect officers and adopt league rules.  Any changes in these rules after they are approved must be by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors.  This league shall be sanctioned by USBC.

 

2.    The amount to be paid each week by each bowler shall be _$11.00_ of which $6.95 pays lineage__ $0.50__ treasurer fee, $0.30 service fee, and __$3.25__ prize fund.  There shall be no arrears, NO PAY NO BOWL.  Any member dropping from the league must pay two weeks fees or furnish a replacement.  A member who withdraws from the league shall forfeit all money and prizes.  The last two weeks’ fees are due by October 6, 2009

 

3.    League funds will be deposited in a banking institution weekly.  The President will receive and verify the statement monthly.  The treasurer will be paid at the completion of the schedule.

 

4.    Sponsor fees – C-B Labs $300, Allman Hearing Health Care - $300, Heartfelt Manor -- $300

 

5.    Percentage of handicap shall be _100%_ of  _200_.  Individual handicaps will be used.

 

6.    There will be four points per meet; one point for each game won and one point for total pins.  In the case of a tie, each team will receive ½ point.

 

7.    Member’s averages shall be established on the first day of bowling for each person.  Average shall be based on total number of games bowled with a minimum of one game and a maximum of three games.

 

8.    Vacancy score shall be _120_ with handicap of __80__ for both men and women.

 

9.    Absent score shall be bowler’s average.

 

10.    One regular member must be present at the start of the first game of the week or the game will be forfeited with exception of emergencies.

 

11.    A tardy player shall be permitted to begin bowling from the first frame, with the score to count, provided the game has not progressed beyond the third frame unless both teams reach an agreement beyond the third frame.

 

12.    Bowling unopposed will be allowed.  If a legal line-up can bowl, you must bowl (see rule 10).

 

13.    Postponements will be granted if a legal line-up cannot be present.  Requests for postponements must be filed with the treasurer (623-8365), AND the Center, 3 days prior to the league schedule.  Any postponed games must be made up within 5 days prior to the next week’s scheduled games.

 

14.    We WILL split lanes 1-12 for first half of season and 13-24 for second half.

 

15.    To be eligible for individual awards, a member must have bowled at least two-thirds of the scheduled games.  A bowler can qualify for high average and high series or high game, but not both.

 

16.    Any rules not covered herein will be covered by USBC.

 

17.    Teams bowling a ghost team must bowl no less than 40 pins of their team average to win the point (according to USBC rule 104d.).

 

18.    50-50 tickets will be sold, 3 for $1.00.  The ticket holder must be bowling to buy a ticket.

 

19.    League prize fund projections will be distributed to each team captain by the sixth week of League bowling.
